The practice

Join us for a weeklong yoga retreat, grounded in nature on the Aegean coast.

Each morning we practice Pranayama, then move through Rocket-inspired Vinyasa.  Think sun salutations, some fun upside down stuff, arm balances and backbends.  All to a steady breath aligned with the beat of the music in the 4Beat method.

In the late afternoon, drop into a workshop if you're up for it, whether that's inversions, balances, or Ananda Mandala pranayama. Then wind down together with evening Yin. All sessions are optional, take what you need.

This is an opportunity to step out of the noise and show up with focus, have fun, rest deeply, eat well, and connect with people who care about practice as much as you do.

Sessions are dynamic yet supportive. All levels welcome, but a bit of experience helps.

The place

Yenice Vadi is tucked into a quiet, sun-soaked valley in southwest Turkey. It’s a working farm that rests among mountains and gardens, with a yoga shala, hammam, freshwater lake, and a 35m saltwater pool. Ducks waddle past. Horses watch from the trees. Lavender and sage scent the air.

It’s peaceful, but never dull.  You can hike, swim, nap, journal, read. Join the herders and goats on their morning walk with Turkish chai in hand. Or just sun bathe and stare at the sky. There’s no schedule to keep up with, just time to take it easy and enjoy all that’s around you.

Homegrown food

It’s all grown on the farm, or sourced locally. Fresh bread, Turkish breakfasts, vegetables from the gardens, homemade jams, herbs in every meal. There’s wine if you want it, coffee when you need it, and flaky baklava at just the right moment.

Hammam

Step into our marble Hammam with warm, hot, and cooling chambers. Enjoy a full-body scrub on the heated stone, rinse, and finish with your choice of oil massage or deep tissue therapy. Pure relaxation the Turkish way.

Excursions

In between yoga sessions, you’ll have plenty of freedom.  Yenice Vadi is surrounded by stunning nature.  Mid week we will pause from yoga practice to explore Akyaka, our nearest beach town, just 30 minutes drive away.

Our shala

We practice facing views of the pine covered valleys.  The shala is fully equipped with mats, bricks, and bolsters.

TRAVEL

Travel & Transfers

  • Regular flights to Bodrum and Dalaman (≈1h20 from Yenice Vadi).

  • Dalaman is closer, easier and usually cheaper to get a taxi to the retreat centre.

DIETARY NEEDS

We do our best to accommodate dietary requirements but may not meet all strict requests.  Please share requirements when booking. Meals are buffet-style, so kindly check which dishes suit you. Our host, Merrill, will be happy to assist.

CLIMATE

September in Muğla brings wonderful warm sunny days (25–29°C) and cooler evenings (12–15°C). Perfect for al fresco dining.  Pack sunscreen and a light layer for nights.

YOGA EQUIPMENT

Mats, blocks, bolsters and straps are provided.  However, I recommend to bring your own favourite sticky mat.  If your airline doesn't allow you to carry it consider a good travel mat.  I recommend the Manduka Superlite travel mat.  As it is so thin, it can be used on top of the mats provided.  It folds into the size of a shoe so squeezes nicely into small case.  It's a brilliant investment.   Shop through eu.manduka.com with my code IMOGENYOGA and I'll receive 10% commision for each purchase.  Plus you'll receive an exclusive 15% on your order.
