About the event

Open the new year with a cathartic dynamic yoga journey that harmonises with live drums and sound therapy.  Practising rocket-inspired vinyasa, Pranayama and Yin yoga absorbed in a soundscape of live percussion amplifies the yoga experience in multiple ways.

Rocket yoga, practiced to the beat of drums instils a sense of synchronicity in your movements, deepening focus and enhancing your practice. The energetic pulse of the drums also fuels motivation, driving you to push your boundaries and achieve more on the mat.

Live music adds an immersive dimension to your practice, making it an engaging and dynamic experience. It brings a sense of connection, allowing you to tune into the music's vibrations, aligning your mind, body, and breath with the rhythm. The collective energy of the class and live music creates a unique synergy, leaving you feeling re-energised and connected. So, join us in this extraordinary journey to explore the powerful union of sound and yoga.

The rhythmic flow not only enhances your practice but also resonates with scientific benefits. The beats synchronise your movements, improving focus, coordination, and motivation. It's like a natural energy booster, keeping you engaged and driven throughout the session.

On the flip side, winding down with restorative yin yoga, paired with chimes and gentle sounds, provides a profound sense of relaxation and inner balance. These vibrations trigger a relaxation response, reducing stress and promoting holistic well-being.

Whether you're seeking inspiration or a soothing escape, this unique workshop is a journey for your body, mind, and health. Join us and elevate your yoga experience with the power of sound in yoga, whilst we set our intentions for the year ahead.

Imogen Houldsworth Yoga

Imogen is a teacher of Rocket inspired Vinyasa and Yin.  When joining her Vinyasa or Rocket classes you can expect to be challenged.  She focuses on strength and stability, combined with Pranayama breathwork.   Imogen's yin classes fuse classical poses with restorative yoga and mindfulness techniques.  Soothing soundscapes calm the nervous system, whilst the encouragement of props aid comfort, deep relaxation and active rest.

Music also plays a large role in her vinyasa classes, where she takes great care to mix her own playlists and take you on a journey - where you move with breath, in sync with the beat, setting the stage for movement as meditation.

She first came to yoga through meditation and the Ashtanga Mysore Shala before finally falling (or flying!) in love with Rocket.  Inspired by this heritage, and influenced by her background in the Arts, she creates immersive experiences that weave traditional asana with modern movement and music.

She has trained extensively with masters of these practices - Marcus Veda, Hannah Whittingham, Amme Poulten, Amber Jean and Carson Calhoun.  If you would like to catch her outside of class, she can regularly be found assisting her teachers in the studio and on their teacher training courses.
